Perched above Fistral Beach, one of the UK's great surfing coastlines, The Pebble is a family home that gently sits on the hillside, marking the transition between streetscape and landscape. The copper-clad form rests on a locally quarried stone podium, its softly curved silhouette dissolving against the skyline.

Inside, a continuous ribcage of curved birch plywood arches overhead and wraps down to form the walls: an organic, nautical shell that feels grown rather than built. At its heart, a panoramic elliptical window floods the room with ocean light and frames an unbroken view of the beach below. Every element follows the curve of the building: an open-plan living space that feels connected to the ocean yet quietly sheltered from it.

The Pebble is site-specific architecture at its most resolved: a one-off space that belongs entirely to its place on the Cornish coast.
