This interior design proposal for a GP surgery in Looe set out to challenge what a healthcare space is allowed to be. Rather than the usual vinyl floor and hard chairs, StudioHaB proposed a layered, biophilic interior centred on a sweeping curved reception: a form that guides patients through the space rather than confronting them at a counter. Plants are woven throughout: into built-in planters, along shelving, framing the approach to consultation rooms, softening every edge.

The design explores several configurations of the waiting space, with curved communal benches with integrated planting inspired by Looe island. The interiors are conceived around  light and natural materials throughout. The ambition was simple: to create a space where anxiety is designed away rather than ignored.
